Reading seeks for the sweetness of a blessed life,
Meditation perceives it,
Prayer asks for it,
Contemplation tastes it.

There are some people who, in order not to pray use as an excuse the fact that life is so hectic that it prevents us from praying.
This cannot be.
Prayer does not demand that we interrupt our work, but that we continue working as if it were a prayer.
It is not necessary to always be in meditation, nor to consciously experience the sensation that we are talking to God, no matter how nice that would be. What matters is being with Him, living in Him, in His will. To love with a pure heart, to love everybody, especially to live the poor, is a twenty-four hour prayer.

The first requirement for prayer is silence. People of prayer are people of silence.

Make us, Lord, worthy to serve our brothers and sisters who are scattered all over the world, who live and die alone and poor. Give them today, using our hands, their daily bread. And, using our love, give them peace and happiness. Amen.

Be generous in prosperity, and thankful in adversity.
Be fair in thy judgment, and guarded in thy speech.
Be a lamp unto those who walk in darkness and a home to the stranger.
Be eyes to the blind, and a guiding light unto the feet of the erring.
Be a breath of life to the body of humankind, dew to the soil of the human heart, and a fruit upon the tree of humanity.

The chastisement of our peace was upon Him and with His stripes we are healed.

Why should man expect his prayer for mercy to be heard by What is above him when he shows no mercy to what is below him?

Everyone in the world should sleep without fear
at least for one night, sleep without fear.

Everyone in the world should eat to their fill,
at least for one day, eat to their fill.

There should be one day when there is no violence,
no one is injured, no one is harmed.

All people young and old should serve the poor
and needy, at least for one day serve selflessly.

This is my dream....this is my prayer.
Love is the answer, love is the way.
Love is the answer, love is the way.

May you live a long life,
Full of gladness and health,
With a pocket of gold
 As the least of your wealth.

May the dreams you hold dearest,
Be those which come true,
The kindness you spread,
Keep returning to you.

May the friendships you make
Be those which endure,
And all of your grey clouds
Be small ones, for sure.

And trusting in him,
To whom we all pray,
May a song fill your heart
Every Step of the way.

Prayer is a serene force; it keeps us from growing unfeeling in the face of turmoil experienced by whole sectors of the human family. From it are drawn vital energies of compassion.
