Trudie Styler & Sting: ‘Why We’re Passionate About Fitness’
“We’re given one body in this precious life. It needs maintenance; it needs to be empowered,” says Trudie Styler in this video interview with her and husband Sting for the new Trudie Styler workout and healthy lifestyle DVD series by Gaiam. “I doubt that we’d be able to get through as much as we do without a fitness routine. Fitness plays a huge part in daily life for us both.”
“Trudie and I are in our mid-50s,” says Sting, “but I do the job of a much younger man, so I have to stay fit. We were both athletes when we were younger … We kept that going, and Trudie looks amazing. She has the discipline and control of her body to do whatever she wants. I’m in awe of it.”
In the program series the couple created with Gaiam, Trudie and Sting share an intimate look at how and why fitness, healthy eating, eco-conscious choices and social action are essential parts of how they live their lives.
The workouts are guided by Styler and celebrity trainer James D’Silva, and the DVDs feature music from Sting’s #1 album Songs from the Labyrinth.
Trudie Styler’s Warrior Yoga, the first DVD in the series, features a vigorous, flowing yoga routine that integrates a blend of cardiovascular conditioning, strength training and flexibility. Other programs in the series include Core Strength Pilates and Cardio Dance Flow, each designed to be highly effective for increasing strength and flexibility, toning muscles, and improving posture.
All five programs were filmed at Trudie and Sting’s Tuscan estate, Il Palagio, a working farm that produces organic olive oil, honey, fruits and vegetables, and wine. The programs include a rare tour of the estate and a behind-the-scenes look at what makes this picturesque expanse of Italian countryside a self-sustaining and eco-friendly house that runs on bio-fuels. There’s even a behind-the-scenes look at Il Palagio’s use of organic gardening and cooking techniques.
A percentage of profits from the sale of each DVD goes toward the UNICEF Ecuador Water Project, which provides rainwater collection and filtration tanks to communities in the Ecuador rainforest where toxic waste from oil production has contaminated the natural water supply.

Hello…and thank you for sharing this amazing video with us. I loved watching it and hearing about Trudie and Sting’s lifestyle and commitment to stewardship of the Planet. I am also into organics, growing my own food, I am a vegetarian, believe in keeping fit, and do everything I can to live a green life. The video and music are beautiful, and the message is heartwarming. It really touched me and reinforces my own commitment to doing everything I can to make my life and the world a better place. Being of Italian heritage, the Italian countryside also spoke to my heart. Thank you for a beautifully done video, and I’d like to say I am so proud of Trudie and Sting’s lifestyle and contributions.
Congratulations on life lived mindfully. If only we could have the rest of the world wake up too.
Cheers!
To All:-
The video interview by Gaiam with Trudie Styler and Sting on their Yoga practice goes to show that YOGA is beneficial to both sexes and all ages. No matter what branch of occupation we follow, or how physically incompetent we feel,a few yoga poses if daily practiced will work wonders on one’s body..i am myself a yoga enthusiast and practice yoga daily at my young age of 84. T.S.Sundaram. Bangalore.
Good health is one’s greatest asset. Without good health one can hardly expect success in any walk of life. Regular practice of yoga even for fifteen minutes a day will will keep one quite fit and soon make him hale and hearty. He will have abundant energy, strength, and nerve power, a charming personality and above all a long life.
If yoga is practiced diligently, asanas can help lose body weight. There are quite a few asanas that will help one to shed weight in specific body parts, and as a whole add a glow to the skin. Ardhakapothasana, paschimothanasana are two asanas to name, which can help in general reduction of body weight. What however is required is patience.
