To Thine Own Self Be True

Many people think of February as the “love” month. They’re planning ways to celebrate love with a partner, looking for love, or bemoaning the fact that they are not experiencing love. Yet it is very important that we all become clear that love begins within.

It’s the experience of deep gratitude and acceptance of self that propels love into the universe and activates the same energy to be returned into our life experience. Love is not something to get. Love is an act of being.  It is remembering that we are all infused with the energy of unconditional love because that is the nature of God and the universe.

We are, in fact, love machines that consistently produce joy and harmony if that is our intention. We are at choice in every moment to choose to be in a space of loving. What you put out into the world is what will return to you. Are you choosing to be the love you want? Are you choosing to be attuned to your real nature? Are you open to expressing love in every moment? If so, you are ready to live a love-filled life. You will become a dynamic expression of love. You will become irresistible. You will become a magnet for loving because you are in harmony with your essence.  Here are a few thoughts for you to contemplate this month to help you feel and attract genuine, healthy love.

  1. Love can be your first response always. You can take a breath before you speak and connect with your loving essence. This simple step will support you in reacting from love instead of fear.
  2. Check in with your heart. When something happens that feels upsetting or scary, STOP! Put your attention on your heart. If it is tight or closed, breathe and pull light into the heart. Do not make any decisions until the heart is relaxed and you feel open and connected to peace.
  3. Declare the truth of who you are. Take a moment to write a one-sentence affirmation of the Truth of who you are as a loving being. Put it where you can see it and say it daily. Memorize it.  Repeat it during the day.  You will begin to notice that you are absolutely modeling this declaration in your everyday life.

Take a moment to remember this:
You are a divine expression, and therefore you are love made manifest. Choose this day to be true to yourself and shine the light that you came here to be.

  1. [...] for more of the same to come to you from the outside, too. You’ll notice that as you cultivate the same kind of relationship with yourself that you expect from other people, you will become stronger, more independent and more able to attract and accept healthy, genuine [...]

  2. We all need to realize that once we learn how to love ourselves, we can love others in ways we never thought possible.
