Anyone can set a goal but how many goals have you set and actually achieved? Setting a goal is a conscious act but achieving a goal is a spiritual act. In order to achieve a goal we have to impress the idea onto our subconscious part of our brain. Our subconscious is where our beliefs are. Once an idea or a thought has become a belief, a thought we have practiced over and over, it will then manifest, but not before that. Once your new thought becomes a belief you are unstoppable.
You cannot become who you want to become by remaining who you are. There is no magic diet, pill, or exercise program that will work on you if you are not fully committed to the change. Eventually you will give up and go back to your old habits and feel discouraged or depressed about your lack of ability to “stick to it”. But if you are willing to do the spiritual work then you are getting to the root of your will power, courage, and discipline and then taking action from there will put you on the road to success.
Here are some tips to help you get to your real power.
1. Clearly define your goal.
2. Write out why it is so important for you to attain this goal.
3. Why is it so important for you to achieve it now?
4. Make a vision board that has pictures of the new you. A picture is worth a thousand words. Seeing it helps you believe it.
These tips will help you ignite the fire of transformation. It keeps your attention off of the whining voice that you have been listening to that goes something like, “it’s too hard”, “I hate exercise”,”I have no willpower”, “this diet will never work for me.”
Practice affirmations to create new patterns of thinking. The goal is the seed, now you have to plant that seed in the fertile part of your mind, the subconscious. Once you have your goal in mind try these affirmations every morning, while you are working out or as you brush your teeth in the mirror. The more you do them the more powerful they become.
I am strong now
Yes I believe I will succeed
I want it, I want it I really, really want it
My faith is strong now.
I am ready, I am willing, and I am changing right now.
After you have repeated these affirmations and you are feeling good sit down and day dream or meditate on the new YOU. This is very important. Spend at least 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the evening daydreaming, seeing, feeling, envisioning your self as you want to be. Feel yourself already there. If you can get yourself to do this you will begin a whole new process.
If you really want to change how you look you have to change what you think about. Instead of complaining about the body you have, give your attention to the one you want.
