The Ethics of Teaching Yoga

Posted By Gaiam Staff On February 18, 2013 @ 4:33 pm In Fitness, Personal Growth, Yoga | No Comments

Yogi Darren Main [1] asks yoga teachers to reflect on the ethics of being a yoga teacher [2]. Main views ethics as a foundational necessity for any yoga teacher so that they can create a safe space for students to flourish and grow. He believes teachers must root themselves in the Yamas and the Niyamas [3] in order to be a good example for students both on and off the mat.

This video is part of a series sponsored by Gaiam TV [4] in collaboration with Big Happy Day [5]. BHD founder Kasey Luber interviews yoga teachers across the nation to bring you their best advice, whether you’re a yoga teacher, a seasoned yogi or a beginner.
