I admit I’ve got some serious hoarder tendencies, especially when it comes to food. While I’m not especially proud of my mismatched assortment of Pyrex and Tupperware, I have to say that opening the door and seeing those myriad containers of leftover food makes me feel good.
Like many of us, my husband’s a sucker for a good marketing ploy. Which is why, in the supermarket produce department the other day, he picked up a plastic clamshell container and asked if we could buy it. The container encased four red apples, but the label identified them as Sweet Grapples®… “Looks like an apple. Tastes like a grape.”
On many a Saturday night, if we get a particularly good choice from Netflix in our mailbox, and we don’t feel like dealing with the unpredictable adventures of dining out with a 9-month-old, we’ll opt instead to cook at home. But to make it a little more special than the typical weeknight meal, I’ll treat myself to grocery shopping at Whole Foods.
