If you mentally scold yourself when you go off your diet or gain weight — or you can’t lose the weight you want to lose — this post is for you!

We often think that by berating ourselves we’ll get ourselves to do better next time. How is that working for you so far? Has it helped? Probably not.

When we scold or berate ourselves for any reason, we just feel bad. That feeling of guilt or shame cannot lead to happiness (have you noticed)? So the real work is finding a new language to use on yourself to help you succeed vs. making it harder to accomplish your goal.

Try this intenSati exercise once a day and allow the words to sink in. If this power phrase is challenging for you to say, it is probably the one you need. No matter how awkward it feels, try to keep it going.

You can do this while you are jogging, walking, climbing stairs or doing any other simple repetitive action.

Simply repeat, while working out:

“I love and accept myself exactly as I am. Everyday in every way I am better and better — yes!”

Say these power phrases for as long as you can — a minimum of 60 seconds. When you say them out loud, they have more power!

Unlock the potential within you by being kind to yourself while keeping up your workouts.

If you won’t be satisfied until you look like one of those small-boned movie stars who can afford to spend three hours every day with their private trainers, you will never think that who you are and what you can do is enough. Set your own goals and be happy in your own skin. Be proud of who you are and what you can do. [...]
