Last month, I spoke about the process of my expansion into a new arena of leadership and transformation as I hosted a teleseries for people around the world. Well, the Venus Transit event was June 5, 2012, and it was extraordinarily successful.
Powerful teachers gave their time and talents to support people in stepping through this once-in-a-lifetime portal to experience healing and growth. More than 7,800 people around the globe registered, and a powerful community was created. Participants accessed the call via the Internet and phone for three hours of intentional creation. I want to stop here and say that my team — Lisa Livingstone and Jean Hendry — brought skill, care and excellence to this process in powerful ways. We were all on a steep learning curve and still managed to find the humor and joy in the midst of many unanswered questions.
I am telling you all of this to let you know what happened next. The day after the call, we began to prepare for the Venus Transit University sessions that began on June 11th and continue through the beginning of July. As the conversations moved and tasks were undertaken, I had a thought: “Are you savoring the accomplishment?”
I had to pause and really take in what that meant. It became obvious that I didn’t want to let the beauty of what we accomplished be pushed away as we moved on to the next thing. I wanted to honor what had already been achieved. I wanted to savor the many times of meditation and visioning we committed to doing regularly. I wanted to acknowledge the flawless way we all handled the technology and support of people experiencing challenges. I wanted to hold in my heart the delicious moment of having thousands of people speak their intention for a powerful life at the same time. I also wanted to take in the beautiful calls, Facebook, Twitter and email acknowledgments from people celebrating healing moments. Those experiences and many more will live in my heart forever.
So, how are you doing with savoring your accomplishments? Are you able to pause and give thanks for how far you have come and how much you have gained because of your commitment to self? Are you willing to be still long enough to honor your work and the gifts you have utilized to succeed? There is great power in stopping before moving onto the next task and giving thanks for all that you have done to get where you are today. I believe that “savoring our accomplishments” gives us breathing room to stand in gratitude and never take for granted all that it takes to succeed.

Please affirm with me: Today, I honor every step I’ve made, large or small, that supports my dreams. Each successful moment moves me one step closer to my destiny.
