A Quote by unknown on buddhas wife, story, gabriel constans, women, spiritual life, and books

Buddha’s Wife tells a fascinating story, little known in the west, about the woman whom Buddha left behind. Gabriel Constans focuses the reader’s attention on the strong and complicated women who surrounded Buddha and makes us re-think the nature of spiritual life.

For the material, at best, is only temporal, or temporary, while that which may be builded from spiritual desire, spiritual purposes, is eternal.

A Quote by Mairead Corrigan-Maguire on spiritual life, science, and humanity

We do need spiritual enlightenment, and we also need a lot of changes in our policies. Our spiritual life should energize us and help us to be politically active. We need both the spiritual world and the secular world to work together. If we only go by the rational, fear can set in. If we bring the heart to it, we understand that we're interconnected as human beings, and we really have to help each other....Our common humanity is more important than all the things that divide us....I'm very hopeful for the future of humanity because I do believe we have this great convergence of science and spiritual life. And I think when we bring those two great influences together, then we have the heart (compassion and love) and we have the head (the knowledge) to know what to do.
