A Quote by Alice Morse Earle on belief, contentment, exercise, future, garden, good, imagination, interest, life, people, and present

Half the interest of a garden is the constant exercise of the imagination. You are always living three, or indeed six, months hence. I believe that people entirely devoid of imagination never can be really good gardeners. To be content with the present, and not striving about the future, is fatal.

A Quote by Alfred North Whitehead on future, knowledge, past, and present

The only use of a knowledge of the past is to equip us for the present. The present contains all that there is. It is holy ground; for it is the past, and it is the future.

A Quote by Alfred Armand Montapert on absence, betrayal, confidence, fear, friendship, needs, sincerity, and present

A FRIEND IS A PERSON . . . With whom you can be sincere. . . . To whom you never need to defend yourself. . . . On whom you can depend whether present or absent. . . . With whom you never need pretend. . . . To whom you can reveal yourself without fear of betrayal. . . . Who does not feel she owns you because you are her friend. . . . Who will not selfishly use you because she has your confidence. I WOULD HAVE SUCH A FRIEND. . . AND I WOULD BE SUCH A FRIEND. I DO HAVE SUCH A FRIEND! ~ Y-O-U ~

A Quote by Alexander Emmanuel (Alex) Rodriguez on day, dogs, future, goals, learning, life, needs, past, people, play, present, and thinking

I'm focussing on what I haven't attained, not what I have. A lot has come to me early. I don't want to get consumed with that. Winners live in the present tense. People who come up short are consumed with future or past. I want to be living in the now. My goal is to play one full game in the now, but I haven't even gotten past the first inning yet. I start thinking about where my mom is or if my dogs have been fed. The average human has 2,000 thoughts a day. The really accomplished have 1,500 because you can focus longer. I need to learn how to focus longer.

A Quote by Albert Einstein on atoms, fear, energy, order, present, and time

. . . Since I do not foresee that atomic energy is to be a great boon for a long time, I have to say that for the present it is a menace. Perhaps it is well that it should b e. It may intimidate the human race into bringing order into its international affairs, which without the pressure of fear, it would not do.
