niceness

A Quote by Shel Silverstein on clothes, good, justice, nature, and niceness

I tried on the farmer's hat, Didn't fit. . . A little too small - just a bit Too floppy. . . . . I tried on the summer sun, Felt good. Nice and warm -- knew it would. Tried the grass beneath bare feet, Felt neat. Finally, finally felt well dressed, Nature's clothes fit me best.

A Quote by Ronald Wilson Reagan on jobs, niceness, and quotations

That's the nice thing about this job. You get to quote yourself shamelessly. If you don't, Larry Speakes will.

A Quote by Robert Solow on ambition, driving, goals, good, ideas, kindness, mistakes, niceness, and people

It is a good idea to be ambitious, to have goals, to want to be good at what you do, but it is a terrible mistake to let drive and ambition get in the way of treating people with kindness and decency. The point is no that they will then be nice to you. It is that you will feel better about yourself.

A Quote by Robert Nozick on argument, behavior, belief, desires, goals, motivation, niceness, originality, people, philosophy, police, proof, study, thought, trying, and understanding

Philosophical argument, trying to get someone to believe something whether he wants to believe it or not, is not, I have held, a nice way to behave towards someone; also it does not fit the original motivation for studying or entering philosophy. That motivation is puzzlement, curiousity, a desire to understand, not a desire to produce uniformity of belief. Most people do not want to become thought-police. The philosophical goal of explanation rather than proof not only is morally better, it is more in accord with one's philosophical motivation.

If I reprehend anything in this world, it is the use of my oracular tongue, and a nice derangement of epitaphs!
