mother

A Quote by Jónas Hallgrímsson on earth, laws, intelligence, time, space, solar system, and mother

Ancient poets and sages have called the earth the mother of all things. They could hardly have chosen a more attractive name, or one that was more appropriate. From her lap springs everything that possesses life and motion, everything that flourishes, fades, and has its fated day, and she tirelessly provides material for the countless varied bodies that are created --- and then abandoned --- by the life force in its unending, hidden progress through nature. And meanwhile the earth itself is running its race around the sun with incredible speed, obedient to fixed, immutable laws. Human intelligence has succeeded in understanding these laws, and it is now possible to determine earth's position in time and space, relative to the sun and other heavenly bodies, at any point in the future, just so long as the present frame of our solar system is not disturbed by any unusual, large-scale events.

A Quote by Lloyd Garrison on alarm, moderate, mother, babe, fire, earnest, inch, equivocate, ravisher, and house on fire

On this subject I do not wish to think, or speak, or write, with moderation. No! No! Tell a man whose house is on fire to give a moderate alarm; tell him to moderately rescue his wife from the hands of the ravisher; tell the mother to gradually extricate her babe from the fire into which it has fallen; but urge me not to use moderation in a cause like the present. I am in earnest; I will not equivocate; I will not retreat a single inch; and I will be heard.

A Quote by Tina on summer, gentle, breeze, low, tide, ocean, balloons, field, tall, grass, child, memories, memory, nothing, famous, quotes, inspiration, inspirational, christian, dream, body, blanket, moment, time, curtains, sandy, salty, window, shore,

A warm breeze blew through my window like a gentle wave lapping the sandy shore in summer at low tide, and as I took in a breath of air that blanketed my body like tall grass in a field I felt for just that moment in time, like I did when I was a child. I felt that I had not one worry, not one burden, nothing was on my mind accept that breeze that made the curtains swell like balloons.

Woman is a mother. She's got a lot of mouths to feed. She feels like a martyr. Frustration is what she bleeds.

A Quote by Pam Brown on wife, mother, sons, and family

For the sake of the sons - and even for the son's future wives - a woman must keep a part of her mind and heart entirely for herself.
Every family is better off with a wife and mother who can astonish and occasionally dewilder.
