A Quote by Gary Snyder on blue, light, moon, and stars

in the blue night
frost haze, the sky glows
with the moon
pine tree tops
bend snow-blue, fade
into sky, frost, starlight.
the creak of boots.
rabbit tracks, deer tracks,
what do we know.

It was here we turned the coffee cups upside down.
And your eyes and the moon swept the valley.

A Quote by Dogen Zenji on dogen, zen, buddhism, moon, false stability, enlightenment, and spirituality

Through one word, or seven words, or three times five, even if you investigate thoroughly myriad forms, nothing can be depended upon. Night advances, the moon glows and falls into the ocean. The black dragon jewel you have been searching for, is everywhere.

A Quote by Dogen Zenji on dogen, zen, buddhism, moon, water, reflection, dewdrop, enlightenment, and spirituality

Enlightenment is like the moon reflected on the water. The moon does not get wet, nor is the water broken. Although its light is wide and great, the moon is reflected even in a puddle an inch wide. The whole moon and the entire sky are reflected in dewdrops on the grass, or even in one drop of water. Enlightenment does not divide you, just as the moon does not break the water. You cannot hinder enlightenment, just as a drop of water does not hinder the moon in the sky. The depth of the drop is the height of the moon. Each reflection, however long or short its duration, manifests the vastness of the dewdrop, and realizes the limitlessness of the moonlight in the sky.

A Quote by Shoitsu on buddha, monkey, enlightment, live, life, death, experiance, moon, and reflection

Sitting peacefully on a cushion day and night seeking to attain Buddhahood, rejecting life and death in hopes of realizing enlightenment, is all like a monkey grasping at the moon reflected in the water.

A Quote by Mevlana Jelalu'ddin Rumi on language, moon, love, and kisses

There is some kiss we want with our whole lives,
the touch of Spirit on the body.

Seawater begs the pearl to break its shell.
And the lily, how passionately it needs some wild Darling!

At night, I open the window and ask the moon to come
and press its face against mine. Breathe into me.

Close the language-door, and open the love-window
The moon won't use the door, only the window.
