Happiness

"Today I have $14.85 in my pocket. I have $87.00 in my savings account. I have $1,133.08 in my checking account. But, today almost 160 people will walk past through this room. Now you tell me who's the richest man in town. What is your plan for getting rich?"

"To all cynics and pessimists: Do you need a readon to have faith, be positive, have hope, and believe? Here it is: the sun will be back tomorrow. And on that day when the sun does fall frm the sky? So what? Congratulations. You were finally right on the very last day."

My life has no purpose, no direction, no aim, no meaning, and yet I'm happy. I can't figure it out. What am I doing right?

There are two kinds of satisfaction or happiness:  one mainly through mental peace;  another physical comfort

There is no need to mention the great difference between the amount of satisfaction there is in just oneself being happy and the amount of satisfaction there is in an infinite number of people being happy.

Ask yourself whether you are happy, and you cease to be so.

What a man is contributes much more to his happiness than what he has, or how he is regarded by others.

Genuine security arises from actual, first-hand knowledge that one is both capable and worthy of achieving happiness (through conscious, responsible action) and, once having attained it, that he deserves it.

Those who are amused easily are amused often.

Success should be measured by the yardstick of happiness;  by your ability to remain in peaceful harmony with cosmic laws.
