All growth depends upon activity. There is no development physically or intellectually without effort, and effort means work.

The close and thoughtful observer more and more learns to recognize his limitations. He realizes that with the steady growth of knowledge more and more new problems keep on emerging.

A person who loves his or her work Is like a plant in the right spot: There growth is maximized And the yield is greatest.

The new growth in the plant swelling against the sheath, which at the same time imprisons and protects it, must still be the truest type of progress.

It is the eternal, inescapable law that growth comes only from work and preparation, whether the growth be material, mental, or spiritual. Work has no substitute.

Thinking, not growth, makes manhood. Accustom yourself, therefore, to thinking. Set yourself to understand whatever you see or read. To join thinking with reading is one of the first maxims, and one of the easiest operations.

In order to move our self image higher on the spectrum of performance, we must specifically attack our self-talking and our self-thinking? By using constructive imagination - the eye of faith - we can change our self image. Constructive imagination consists of three parts. Verbal: The words we say to ourselves and about ourselves. Visual: What we see ourselves doing. Emotional: What we feel about ourselves. Specifically, what must we do? We define the role we want to change, exactly how we want to change, and then we have a written affirmation describing the change. By repeating the affirmation we will find our constructive imagination . . . our eye of faith . . . changing. And, we are changing. Seeing ourselves as we want to be is a key to personal growth. To successfully bring about change in our lives we need to implement a system of change that is build upon three assumptions. First Assumption: We change our lives by changing the attitudes of our minds. Second Assumption: We become what we think about all day long. Third Assumption: Our mind is naturally goal seeking. Please remember these assumptions. Our mind is always trying to accomplish something. We have a powerful machine wanting to achieve goals. It will set the goals that we allow it to.
