goals

A Quote by Alfred Armand Montapert on decisions, goals, life, and mind

In life, the first thing you must do is decide what you really want. Weigh the costs and the results. Are the results worthy of the costs? Then make up your mind completely and go after your goal with all your might.

A Quote by Alexander Emmanuel (Alex) Rodriguez on day, dogs, future, goals, learning, life, needs, past, people, play, present, and thinking

I'm focussing on what I haven't attained, not what I have. A lot has come to me early. I don't want to get consumed with that. Winners live in the present tense. People who come up short are consumed with future or past. I want to be living in the now. My goal is to play one full game in the now, but I haven't even gotten past the first inning yet. I start thinking about where my mom is or if my dogs have been fed. The average human has 2,000 thoughts a day. The really accomplished have 1,500 because you can focus longer. I need to learn how to focus longer.

A Quote by Albert Einstein on age, confusion, goals, and perfection

Perfection of means and confusion of goals seem-in my opinion-to characterize our age.

A Quote by Albert Einstein on feeling, goals, humility, nature, purpose, religion, thinking, and understanding

I have never imputed to Nature a purpose or a goal, or anything that could be understood as anthropomorphic. What I see in Nature is a magnificent structure that we can comprehend only very imperfectly, and that must fill a thinking person with a feeling of humility. This is a genuinely religious feeling that has nothing to do with mysticism.

A Quote by Adlai Ewing Stevenson on goals, idealism, lies, men, strength, and struggle

Our strength lies, not alone in our proving grounds and our stockpiles, but in our ideals, our goals, and their universal appeal to all men who are struggling to breathe free.

A Quote by Adam Lindsay Gordon on courage, goals, kindness, life, neighbors, questions, and trouble

Question not, but live and labour Till yon goal be won, Helping every feeble neighbor, Seeking help from none; Life is mostly froth and bubble, Two things stand like stone, Kindness in another's trouble, Courage in your own.

A Quote by 'Abd al-Kader on behavior, belief, conformity, direction, facts, faith, goals, intention, laws, men, profit, sacred, soul, understanding, and vision

His faith is no longer of any use to him. In fact his faith is only useful so long as he is veiled and has not obtained direct vision and evidence. . . . When that which was hidden becomes evident, when that of which he was merely informed is directly seen, the soul no longer derives any profit from that which it believes but only from that which it contemplates and sees. The states, the intentions, the goals which he had during the phase of faith are transformed. This transformation should be understood as purely inner. As to the exterior of this being, it is not modified even an iota. He continues to behave in a way which is acceptable to the sacred Law and commendable according to customs and natural law, engaging in the activities which conform to his situation and his rank among his fellow men.

'Abd al-Kader (1807 - 1883)
