fulfillment

A Quote by Anthony (Tony) Robbins on achievement, direction, fulfillment, goals, happiness, life, obstacles, purpose, and reason

Goals are a means to an end, not the ultimate purpose of our lives. They are simply a tool to concentrate our focus and move us in a direction. The only reason we really pursue goals is to cause ourselves to expand and grow. Achieving goals by themselves will never make us happy in the long term; it's who you become, as you overcome the obstacles necessary to achieve your goals, that can give you the deepest and most long-lasting sense of fulfillment.

A Quote by Walter Lippmann on courage, duty, fulfillment, good, heroism, honesty, hope, inspiration, life, men, sacrifice, and wishes

Upon the standard to which the wise and honest will now repair it is written: You have lived the easy way; henceforth, you will live the hard way. . . . You came into a great heritage made by the insight and the sweat and the blood of inspired and devoted and courageous men; thoughtlessly and in utmost self-indulgence you have all but squandered this inheritance. Now only by the heroic virtues which made this inheritance, can you restore it again. You took the good things for granted. Now you must earn them again. . . . For every right that you cherish, you have a duty which you must fulfill. For every hope that you entertain, you have a task that you must perform. For every good that you wish to preserve, you will have to sacrifice your comfort and your ease. There is nothing for nothing any longer.

A Quote by Viktor E. Frankl on achievement, action, bliss, brevity, fulfillment, honor, understanding, and world

I understood how a man who has nothing left in this world may still know bliss, be it only for a brief moment, in the contemplation of his beloved. In a position of utter desolation, when a man cannot express himself in positive action, when his only achievement may consist in enduring his sufferings in the right way - an honorable way - in such a position man can, through loving contemplation of the image he carries of his beloved, achieve fulfillment.

A Quote by Viktor E. Frankl on action, expectation, fulfillment, individuality, life, meaning, meditation, problems, and responsibility

It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life - daily and hourly. Our answer must consist, not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual.

A Quote by Anthony (Tony) Robbins on ability, behavior, change, desires, direction, fulfillment, kindness, life, needs, people, power, sharing, thought, value, work, and world

I don't think of power in terms of conquering people. I don't think of it as something to be imposed. That kind of power seldom lasts. But you should realize that power is a constant in the world. You shape your perceptions, or someone shapes them for you. You do what you want to do, or you respond to someone else's plan for you. To me, ultimate power is the ability to produce the results you desire most and create value for others in the process. Power is the ability to change your life, to shape your perceptions, to make things work for you and not against you. Real power is shared, not imposed. It's the ability to define human needs and to fulfill them-both your needs and the needs of the people you care about. It's the ability to direct your own personal kingdom-your own thought processes, your own behavior-so you produce the precise results you desire.

A Quote by Thomas J. Watson on ability, advertising, america, creativity, desires, education, fulfillment, life, progress, work, and path

A message regarding the annual convention of the Advertising Federation of America in NYC, June 14-18, 1931. Advertising has illuminated the path of progress. . . . In building up desire, advertising has spurred new endeavors. It is their creative work, their dynamic presentations of products, their ability to teach and educate which have made each of us desire better things. And in the fulfillment of our desires, we have reached for and attained higher pinnacles in living standards and a clearer conception of the values of life itself.
