friendship

A Quote by Ann Landers on compromise, confidence, contentment, day, friendship, future, goals, good, hope, life, love, past, perfection, problems, quiet, sharing, present, and understanding

Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyaltly through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses. Love is content with the present, it hopes for the future, and it does not brood over the past. It's the day-in and day-out chronicle of irritations, problems, compromises, small disappointments, big victories and working toward common goals. If you have love in your life, it can make up for a great many things that are missing. If you don't have love in your life, no matter what else there is, it's not enough.

A Quote by Anita Brookner on friendship and women

A man can go from being a lover to being a stranger in three moves flat . . . but a woman under the guise of friendship will engage in acts of duplicity which come to light very much later. There are different species of self-justification.

A Quote by Angel Abrea on betrayal, criticism, faith, fatherhood, friendship, impatience, journeys, life, patience, travel, and path

When on life's journey it becomes our lot to travel with criticism of skeptics, the hate of some, the rejection of others, the impatience of many, or a friend's betrayal, we must be able to pray in such a manner that an abiding faith and a strong testimony that the Lord will be with us to the end, will compel us to say, "Nevertheless, Father, Thy will be done, and with Thy help, in patience I will follow firmly on the path that takes me back to Thee."

A Quote by André Gide on enemies, friendship, and life

I owe much to my friends; but, all things considered, it strikes me that I owe even more to my enemies. The real person springs to life under a strain even better than under a caress.

A Quote by Anaïs Nin on best friend, chastity, death, friendship, and wives

Someone told me the delightful story of the crusader who put a chastity belt on his wife and gave the key to his best friend for safekeeping, in case of his death.  He had ridden only a few miles away when his friend, riding hard, caught up with him, saying "You gave me the wrong key!"

A Quote by Anaïs Nin on country, dreams, friendship, life, love, and space

Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country.
