fear

A Quote by George Fowler on artisan, atrocities, fear, footnote, god, holocausts, jeopardy, mountains, nightmares, peace, and personal experience

Now I understood for the first time that all these problems are caused by a race asleep and thrashing about in its panicked nightmares. There will be wars and holocausts and genocides as long as God is portrayed and thought of as a tight-minded legislator, a feudal lord, an offended King, a hypersensitive Artisan – even if church managers condescendingly tack onto that ridiculous list the not-very-convincing footnote that He is also loving. As long as people dream that they are insecure and needy in some sort of eternal jeopardy, there will be atrocities. But as the human race grows up spiritually, and as individuals gain a personal experience of the God they have been worshipping in fear, they will recognize that much of their theology and philosophy is built on nightmares. That will be the day of peace. I suddenly found myself unwilling to sit it out in the mountains of Utah. I wanted to play an active role in the process of the world’s awakening.

A Quote by Gavin De Becker on fear, child abuse, and terrorism

The hijacking of an American jet in Athens looms larger in our concern than the parent who kills a child, even though the one happens rarely, and the other happens daily.

A Quote by Rob Brezsny on creativity, evil, fear, despair, cynicism, and copycat crime

Obsessing on evil is boring.  Rousing fear is a hackneyed shtick.  Wallowing is despair is a bad habit.  Indulging in cynicism is akin to committing a copycat crime.

A Quote by Jennifer Welwood on experience, aloneness, loneliness, connection, fear, courage, loss, gifts, fleeing, welcoming, and non-duality

Willing to experience aloneness,
I discover connection everywhere;
Turning to face my fear,
I meet the warrior who lives within;
Opening to my loss,
I am given unimaginable gifts;
Surrendering into emptiness,
I find fullness without end.

Each condition I flee from pursues me.
Each condition I welcome transforms me
And becomes itself transformed…

A Quote by Rob Brezsny on pronoia, optimism, evil, cynicism, fear, joy, love, pleasure, receptivity, secret helpers, and conspiracy

DEFINITION: Pronoia is the antidote for paranoia.  It's the understanding that the universe is fundamentally friendly.  It’s a mode of training your senses and intellect so you're able to perceive the fact that life always gives you exactly what you need, exactly when you need it.

HYPOTHESES: Evil is boring.  Cynicism is idiotic.  Fear is a bad habit.  Despair is lazy.  Joy is fascinating.  Love is an act of heroic genius.  Pleasure is our birthright.  Receptivity is a superpower.

PROCEDURE: Act as if the universe is a prodigious miracle created for your amusement and illumination.  Assume that secret helpers are working behind the scenes to assist you in turning into the gorgeous masterpiece you were born to be.  Join the conspiracy to shower all of creation with blessings.

A Quote by Mr. on fear, prison, liberation, inspiration, self made prison, self liberation, and mr prophet

Fear can be like a prison. It is, however, a self made prison. Many are imprisoned by fear. No one else can liberate them from this prison. Others may inspire them but they must liberate themselves.
