expectations

Where there is love there are no demands, no expectations, no dependency. I do not demand that you make me happy; my happiness does not lie in you. If you were to leave me, I will not feel sorry for myself; I enjoy your company immensely, But I do not cling.

Creating perfection will also create expectations for the future

Expect much from yourself and little from others and you will avoid incurring resentments.

The universe constantly and obediently answers to our conceptions; whether we travel fast or slow, the track is laid for us.

Life is NOT "Supposed to be Fair."  Know that there is no single way that life is "supposed" to be.  Demanding that life meet our expectations is a sure fire recipe for a miserable existence.  Life is a game with no rules.  Life just happens to us regardless of our best intentions.  Our only path to happiness lies in being open to receiving whatever life throws at us - with Gratitude.  Have NO Expectations of life.

I did what I came here to do. What I've done I've done with sincerity and to the best of my ability. You can't expect much more from life.

Happiness is living without expectations.

Tao is beyond words and beyond understanding. Words may be used to speak of it, but they cannot contain it. Tao existed before words and names, before heaven and earth, before the ten thousand things. It is the unlimited father and mother of all limited things. Therefore, to see beyond boundaries to the subtle heart of things, dispense with names, with concepts, with expectations and ambitions and differences. Tao and its many manifestations arise from the same source: subtle wonder within mysterious darkness. This is the beginning of all understanding.
