Even the best of people make mistakes. But we can learn good through evil and progress to goodness and greatness through great mistakes. If my family were perfect, I could not endure the contrast. My weaknesses help me to understand the weaknesses of others.
No man leaves the world in all things as he finds it. The way of life which he was instrumental in forging may go on from century to century as forces for good or evil, doing their work of happiness or misery, blessing or cursing that area that has now lost all record of his memory.
The line between good and evil passes not between principalities and powers, but oscillates within the human heart. And even the most rational approach to ethics is defenseless if there isn't the will to do what is right.
