A Quote by Ron Wild on wisdom, eyes, and child

Seek the wisdom of the ages, but look at the world through the eyes of a child

A Quote by Jeanette Winterson on happy, happiness, adult, child, and passion

I was happy but happy is an adult word. You don't have to ask a child about happy, you see it. They are or they are not. Adults talk about being happy because largely they are not. Talking about it is the same as trying to catch the wind. Much easier to let it blow all over you. This is where I disagree with the philosophers. They talk about passionate things but there is no passion in them. Never talk happiness with a philosopher.

A Quote by Herbert O'Driscoll on grandmother, child, ireland, churchyard, understanding, vulnerability, and love

When I was a child, my grandmother died and was buried in the churchyard in Castlecomer, Ireland.  The following year I went there on holiday.  One day we drove to visit relatives, I in the back seat with my grandfather.  As we pass the graveled driveway leading up to the churchyard, my grandfather, thinking he was unobserved, pressed his face against the window of the car and with a small, hidden motion of his hand, waved. It was then I came to my first understanding of the majesty and vulnerability of love.

A Quote by Tina on summer, gentle, breeze, low, tide, ocean, balloons, field, tall, grass, child, memories, memory, nothing, famous, quotes, inspiration, inspirational, christian, dream, body, blanket, moment, time, curtains, sandy, salty, window, shore,

A warm breeze blew through my window like a gentle wave lapping the sandy shore in summer at low tide, and as I took in a breath of air that blanketed my body like tall grass in a field I felt for just that moment in time, like I did when I was a child. I felt that I had not one worry, not one burden, nothing was on my mind accept that breeze that made the curtains swell like balloons.

A Quote by unknown on child, childhood, children, nature, soul, modern living, natural, natural world, and wild areas

"Think about your childhood for a moment. What was your favorite outdoor place to play? What was that environment like? Do your memories evoke specific sights, scents, and sounds? What did you do there? What did it look like and feel like? Did this place change along with the seasons? What sort of games did you play and what did you discover there?

"Most of us have vivid memories of our favorite childhood play environment. This was the place where we began to discover the wonder of playful exploration. It was the place where we first interacted with the natural world. This place was our introduction to the environment, our community, and the cycles of life.

"The places that adults remember playing in as children are so often natural places - places with a stream, clumps of spongy moss, thick layers of slippery mud, fallen logs, or even a mound of dirt piled high in a vacant lot in the city. There is just something about connecting with the natural world that is so important for all people - particularly children. These are the kinds of experiences that nourish our souls.

"Unfortunately, these days many children don't have the kinds of opportunities that we had not so long ago. Our fast-paced culture now places greater emphasis on going, doing, and becoming, and less on wandering, searching, and discovering. With modern urban and suburban development, natural or wild areas are less available."

A Quote by Masahisa Goi on child, elder, husband, wife, and heart

When facing a child, I become a child.  When facing an elderly person, or a husband, or a wife, in my heart, I too am an elderly person, husband, or a wife.  While I am talking with a person, in my heart, nothing exists except that person.
