charity

A Quote by John Donne on charity, church, curiosity, fatherhood, god, jesus, mercy, salvation, sons, and present

To me, to whom God hath revealed his Son, in a Gospel, by a Church, there can be no way of salvation, but by applying that Son of God, by that Gospel, in that Church. Nor is there any other foundation for any, nor other name by which any can be saved, but the name of Jesus. But how this foundation is presented, and how this name of Jesus is notified unto them, amongst whom there is no Gospel preached, no Church established, I am not curious in inquiring. I know that God can be as merciful as those tender Fathers present him to be; and I would be as charitable as they are. And therefore, humbly embracing that manifestation of his Son, which he hath afforded me, I leave God, to his unsearchable ways of working upon others, without further inquisition.

John Donne (1572 - 1631)

A Quote by Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe on anxiety, charity, confession, contentment, difficulty, faith, fear, future, god, good, grace, health, helpful, hope, love, needs, neighbors, patience, pleasure, strength, support, wealth, and work

nine keys to contentment Health enough to make work a pleasure. Wealth enough to support your needs. Strength enough to battle with difficulties and overcome them. Grace enough to confess your sins and forsake them. Patience enough to toil until some good is accomplished. Charity enough to see some good in your neighbors. Love enough to move you to be useful and helpful to others. Faith enough to make real things of God. Hope enough to remove all anxious fears concerning the future.

A Quote by Jay E. House on behavior, charity, honesty, life, success, and tolerance

Our definition of success is unorthodox. We claim that any man who is honest, fair, tolerant, kindly, charitable of others and well behaved is a success, no matter what his station in life.

A Quote by Hyrum W. Smith on achievement, assumptions, change, character, charity, day, goals, growth, humility, ideas, imagination, life, machines, mind, needs, peace, sacrifice, success, trying, and wisdom

Seeing ourselves as we want to be is a key to personal growth. To successfully bring about change in our lives we need to implement a system of change that is build upon three assumptions. First Assumption: We change our lives by changing the attitudes of our minds. Second Assumption: We become what we think about all day long. Third Assumption: Our mind is naturally goal seeking. Please remember these assumptions. Our mind is always trying to accomplish something. We have a powerful machine wanting to achieve goals. It will set the goals that we allow it to. A Quote by Hyrum W. Smith on change, character, charity, difficulty, goals, growth, humility, ideas, imagination, knowledge, mind, peace, sacrifice, success, and wisdom

Wisdom: Knowledge rightly applied. We assimilate lots of knowledge. Whether or not we do anything with that knowledge is a measure of our wisdom. That implies some change . . . and change can be difficult. A Quote by Hyrum W. Smith on change, character, charity, emotion, faith, goals, growth, humility, ideas, imagination, mind, order, peace, performance, sacrifice, success, thinking, wisdom, and words

In order to move our self image higher on the spectrum of performance, we must specifically attack our self-talking and our self-thinking? By using constructive imagination - the eye of faith - we can change our self image. Constructive imagination consists of three parts. Verbal: The words we say to ourselves and about ourselves. Visual: What we see ourselves doing. Emotional: What we feel about ourselves. Specifically, what must we do? We define the role we want to change, exactly how we want to change, and then we have a written affirmation describing the change. By repeating the affirmation we will find our constructive imagination . . . our eye of faith . . . changing. And, we are changing. A Quote by Hyrum W. Smith on ability, change, character, charity, decisions, emotion, goals, growth, humility, ideas, imagination, justice, mind, peace, perception, reputation, sacrifice, success, and wisdom

Character: The ability to carry out a worthy decision after the emotion of making that decision has passed. Character simply stated is doing what you said you were going to do. If you develop a reputation for that, do you have any idea the effect that has on self-perception? Its immense, just immense. The Savior was a man of character. He did everything he said he was going to do. A Quote by Hyrum W. Smith on change, character, charity, dependence, divinity, feeling, goals, god, greatness, growth, humility, ideas, imagination, mind, peace, power, sacrifice, success, and wisdom

Humility: The realization of our dependence on God. I have always had strong feelings about that word regardless of what anyone's background might be. One of the common denominators of greatness is acknowledging that dependence. As power comes from Charity, power also comes from knowing who you are, a divine offspring of a divine being.
