blessings

A Quote by Herman Melville on blessings and dreams

Dream tonight of peacock tails, Diamond fields and spouter whales. Ills are many, blessing few, But dreams tonight will shelter you.

A Quote by Henry van Dyke on blessings, heart, wishes, and work

Let me but find it in my heart to say, When vagrant wishes beckon me astray, "This is my work; my blessing, not my doom; Of all who live, I am the one by whom This work can best be done in the right way."

A Quote by Henry Moore on blessings and value

Nothing raises the price of a blessing like its removal; whereas, it was its continuance which should have taught us its value.

A Quote by Henry B. Eyring on beginning, blessings, books, exercise, experience, faith, gifts, god, gratitude, inspiration, language, memory, mind, prayer, privacy, spirit, and time

You could have an experience with the gift of the Holy Ghost today. You could begin a private prayer with thanks. You could start to count your blessings, and then pause for a moment. If you exercise faith, and with the gift of the Holy Ghost, you will find that memories of other blessings will flood into your mind. If you begin to express gratitude for each of them, your prayer may take a little longer than usual. Remembrance will come. And so will gratitude. You could try the same thing as you write an entry in your book of remembrance. The Holy Ghost has helped with that since the beginning of time. You remember in the record of Moses it says: "And a book of remembrance was kept, in the which was recorded, in the language of Adam, for it was given unto as many as called upon God to write by the spirit of inspiration." (Moses 6:5.)

A Quote by Henry B. Eyring on blessings, day, failure, faith, gifts, god, and life

As you start to write, you could ask yourself, "How did God bless me today?" If you do that long enough and with faith, you will find yourself remembering blessings. And sometimes, you will have gifts brought to your minds which you failed to notice during the day, but which you will then know were a touch of God's hand in your life.

A Quote by Helen Steiner Rice on adversity, blessings, choice, day, difficulty, earth, god, heart, intention, mankind, miracles, observation, pain, purpose, serenity, soul, and understanding

ADVERSITY CAN DISTRESS US OR BLESS US The way we use adversity is strictly our own choice, For in God's Hands adversity can make the heart rejoice - For everything God sends to us, no matter in what form, Is sent with plan and purpose for by the fierceness of a storm The atmosphere is changed and cleared and the earth is washed and clean And the "high winds of adversity" can make restless souls serene - And while it's very difficult for mankind to understand God's intentions and His purpose and the workings of His Hand, If we observe the miracles that happen every day We cannot help but be convinced that in His wondrous way God makes what seemed unbearable and painful and distressing, Easily acceptable when we view it as a blessing.

A Quote by Helen Adams Keller on absence, belief, blessings, conviction, cooperation, effort, evil, good, helpful, men, men and women, optimism, patience, rest, soul, struggle, suffering, women, and world

I can say with conviction that the struggle which evil necessitates is one of the greatest blessings. It makes us strong, patient, helpful men and women. It lets us into the soul of things and teaches us that although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcomings of it. My optimism, then, does not rest on the absence of evil, but on a glad belief in the preponderance of good and a willing effort always to cooperate with the good, that it may prevail.

A Quote by Heber J. Grant on blessings, failure, faith, good, repentance, and sacred

Of what good is our faith, our repentance, our baptism, and all the sacred ordinances of the gospel by which we have been made ready to receive the blessings of the Lord, if we fail, on our part, to keep the commandments.

A Quote by Hartman Rector, Jr. on blessings and work

Surely, in the work of the Lord, it is what we do after we think we have done enough that really counts with him, for that's when the blessings flow.
