A complex is a cluster of energy in the unconscious, charged by historic events, reinforced through repitition, embodying a fragment of our personality, and generating a programmed response and an implicit set of expectations.

Enlightenment doesn't occur from sitting around visualizing images of light, but from integrating the darker aspects of the self into the conscious personality. 

It is really the mistake of our age. We think it is enough to discover new things, but we don't realize that knowing more demands a cor­responding development of morality.

Archetypes, in spite of their conservative nature, are not static but in a continuous dramatic flux. Thus the self as a monad or continuous unit would be dead. But it lives inasmuch as it splits and unites again. There is no energy without opposites!

However, it is still a topic of interest whether Jung's later explanations of his actions to save psychoanalysis from the Nazi Regime meant that he did not actually believe in Nazism himself.

But, if you have nothing at all to create, then perhaps you create yourself.

The decisive question for man is:

Is he related to something infinite or not? 

That is the telling question of his life. 

Only if we know that the thing which truly matters is the infinite can we avoid fixing our interests upon futilities, and upon all kinds of goals which are not of real importance...If we understand and feel that here in this life we already have a link with the infinite, desires and attitudes change. 

In the final analysis, we count for something only because of the essential we embody, and if we do not embody that, life is wasted. 

In our relationships to other men, too, the crucial question is whether an element of boundlessness is expressed in the relationship.

Projection [of our own shadow] makes the whole world a replica of our own unknown face.

People will do anything, no matter how absurd, to avoid facing there own soul.
