Peace in Chaos

Wow, so much is going on in our world today. Is it hope or fear that we are clinging to? It seems both are so strong at the present time. What we can be sure of is that things are changing at lightening speed, and we need to learn to roll and be flexible because just when you think all of your ducks are in a row, another wave comes along. It would be a pretty boring ride if we knew where all the bumps in the road were. What makes a roller coaster so exciting? It is the not knowing.

I believe that we have woken up from a deep sleep, and even if there is crisis everywhere, my sense is that people are more alive than they have been in a long time. So many sages say that a lot of times it takes a tragedy or our deathbed to wake up. Hafiz says there are so many presents from our birthday that remain unopened. Maybe this intense time will bring us into an appreciation of what we do have right here in the present, and how much growth and opportunity comes with the difficulty and change.

We can find that sense of passion, awe and really being alive every moment if we strip off the security blanket that is full of holes and open our birth presents now. Our life is such a gift, and all too often our eyes are closed to the wonder of it all.

With courage and awe,
Colleen, Cofounder of the Gaiam Yoga Club

  2. Great reminder Colleen! It is such an amazing time to alive. Everything we thought we knew about how things work is being called into question. Do we dare to let go of the old and find a new way to be?
