On the Path to Achievable Goals

This is it, that time of the year when we all decide to make changes … but how many of those changes are lasting? It’s so easy to have good intentions, but it’s the implementation of these intentions that separate the “start and stop” game that a lot of us love to play from actual lasting change.

One of my college professors once told me that many of us are living in a false reality. We all have an “I” and a “ME.” One represents reality and the other expectations. When your I and ME are running perpendicular (away from one another) so are your reality and your expectations, and you are setting yourself up for disappointment. But when your I and the ME are running parallel this is when you are on the right path and real changes can be made in your life.

This is something that has stuck with me through the years and I have tried to live by it. Being a dreamer myself, I tend to get wrapped up in the final product, but the only way to get there is to focus on the now, my reality, what is right in front of me. This year, try to keep your I and ME running parallel. Just make the right choice in this moment and know that it’s the little steps that lead you to your ideal final product.

I know that you will make 2011 your best year ever. This is YOUR time!

Be well.
