May: A Month for Mothers

Posted By Spiritual Cinema Circle On April 24, 2013 @ 1:00 pm In Inspirational Media, Personal Growth | No Comments

What does the idea of “family” mean to you?  Spiritual Cinema Circle’s May film selections [1] explore family, identity and home.

In the short film OMG, a teenage girl and her grandmother learn to communicate [2] in the modern age, with hilarious results. In Transit shows a touching encounter between strangers at a bus stop who find they have more in common than they think. And Fetch is the story of a young boy who is trying desperately to find his mother.

This month’s feature film, Shouting Secrets, is a universal story about a Native American family that learns to reconnect [3] with one another. The film explores the importance of family, as a writer (Chaske Spencer) returns home. Shouting Secrets also stars Q’orianka Kilcher and Gil Birmingham and was directed by Korinna Sehringer.

Spiritual Cinema Circle [1] is a monthly DVD club that celebrates inspiring and thought-provoking films.
