How to Wrap Gifts Around the Planet
Posted By Ginny Figlar Colón On November 20, 2009 @ 12:41 pm In Green Living | No Comments
Growing up, my mom kept every gift box we ever received in the attic so we could reuse them. Now I do the same, but I don’t have an attic. Instead, piles of salvaged boxes, ribbon and tissue paper have taken over an entire closet. It’s one of the ways I try to wrap a little greener .
I’ve never thought too much about what happens to my reused wrapping once I send it on its way. That is, not until I received a reusable drawstring Wrapsack a few weeks ago.
Not only does the planet-friendly fabric bag store much easier than a bulky box, but it also allows me to track the bag’s journey around the world as it keeps on giving and giving. How cool!
Each hand-dyed batik Wrapsack has a unique code attached to it with the following message: “I’m on a journey. See where I’ve been and be part of my travels. Enter my code at www.WrapSacks.com .”
I like the design of the bag so much that I’m thinking about keeping it and using it for toting toddler snacks around. But the temptation to see how far this gift bag goes may end up being too strong.
