Welcome to the Gaiam’s Stream of Consciousness Blog! The SOCB is an expert-written multiple contributor blog. Are you thinking: what the heck does that mean? It means that every day a different expert in a conscious living related subject, such as Yoga, Green Living and Eco-Travel, will post insightful information that will inspire you, inform you or make you think (hopefully all three!) about living a more balanced and healthy life.

We’d love it if you chimed right in with the experts to share your opinions or experiences on whatever the Blog post is about — from a new type of Yoga to the latest news on alternative energy to how to start a meditation practice.

You might be wondering how we picked the name. We wanted to give our experts blog a name that expressed the spirit of all the conscious living subjects we cover in Gaiam Community Life. So, we turned to you—our readers—and asked for help. We launched the Gaiam Community Life Name Our Blog Contest in August 2007 and got tons of creative suggestions.

We’d like to thank all of those who entered the contest, and give special props to the Grand Prize Winner and the 8 Runners Up. (There were only supposed to be 5 Runner Up Winners but in a couple of cases more than one person suggested the same name.)
