I have a wonderful friend, Jami Lula. He is a gifted singer/songwriter, and one of his songs says, “I won’t waste one more minute of my life.” Those words moved straight to my heart and I was guided to say to myself, “Is there anywhere you are wasting time in your life?” The answer that came to me was surprising: a resounding “yes.” Indeed, I was in a holding pattern in some pretty significant areas. This revelation brought me to a deep recognition that I was stuck.

I am wondering if you might want to look deep within yourself and inquire about the spaces where you are feeling like you are running on empty or in a state of confusion about where to go next. If so, stop and look at the number of distractions in your life. You know, those things that keep you busy and focused on items that have nothing to do with your destiny or passion. These distractions keep you in a state of perpetual “time wasting” and then you wonder why you do not feel more fulfilled.

Think about this. If you continue to do what you are doing, you will get what you are getting. If you continue to allow distractions to take you off course, it will take you longer to awaken to your purpose. You get to choose. So, in this moment, I ask … Are you ready to stop wasting time and open to the infinite possibilities of your life?

Here are some questions to contemplate in support of you moving into a fully expressed life:

Sit down and center yourself. Have a journal or a piece of paper next to you. Breathe in slowly until you feel relaxed and then begin to contemplate one question at a time.

1. What things do I put off that I know will support my greatness?
2. How does resistance show up in my life?
3. What past events consume a lot of my attention?
4. What is calling me forward that scares me?
5. What would I be doing if there were no obstacles?

You can contemplate these questions all at one time, or you can do one a day. Please be honest. Your ability to look at yourself in authentic ways will really assist you in uncovering blocks. It will also give you the opportunity to make new choices that help you become present and connected to your purpose. I invite you to do this process without judgment. You are on the precipice of your greatness, and this leap will allow you to soar.

Try saying this affirmation to yourself:

“Today, I declare with passion and clarity, ‘I won’t waste one more minute of my life.’ Today, I step up and step out into my greatness.”

  1. One piece of invaluable advice I heard from my Iyengar teacher was something she read by Swami Vivkenanda, “Discard all that weakens you”. We then just have to recognize what is strengthening us and what is draining us.
    Namaste!
