We began harvesting our plentiful red-leaf lettuce in June and now have a healthy new crop of green-leaf lettuce.

Last month Gaiam staffers contributed 40 fully-packed backpacks to the Crayons to Calculators school supply drive, which aims to provide 5,000 backpacks to children in need to start their school year off right.

Our staff’s huge outpouring of support for the Crayons to Calculators program is clear in this mountain of donated backpacks … The girls from Gaiam’s HR team paused for a photo before prepping the packs for volunteers to fill at our Boulder, Colo., headquarters.

Converted to Inverted: What It’s Like on an Inversion Table

I can’t believe how good it feels to be upside-down.

Working at Gaiam, we get to try some cool stuff. The Inversion Table is very cool stuff. There are two of them in an open area, a little oasis near customer service where people go to meditate, read, stretch, whatever. Christine, who says she’s not needed massage or chiropractic nearly as much for her back since she started inverting, showed me how to strap in. It’s much less intimidating than it appears — and wow, is it worth it.

Everett Sizemore, Gaiam's SEO Dude

Being the original ball chair people, Gaiam employees tend to do a little more bouncing during the day than at most companies. A picture is worth a thousand words, so let’s go on a quick walk around our department …

To the left is me, Everett. I make sure search engines like the one on my shirt bring you to Gaiam when you search for stuff like Balance Ball Chair.

tweetup

Admittedly, this post comes a bit later than fashionable, but I was waiting on photos from our friends of the first tweetup hosted by @Gaiam, @LOHASTed and @elephantjournal at the @happynoodle. After all, what good is a post about a tweetup without pics?

All in all, our first tweetup was an absolute success!

Tucked between the Colorado foothills and a watering stop for migrating Canadian geese are the Gaiam corporate offices in Louisville, CO. We have a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains from all west-facing windows, but it’s the view from our rooftop that takes my breath away.
