Posing on the Job: Gaiam Vendor Offers Yoga at Work
Here at Gaiam, we don’t just walk the walk — we pose the pose. Many of us really do keep up a regular yoga practice, and yes, we love to use our Gaiam yoga mats, bags, straps, blocks and clothes. We also count ourselves lucky that we can do yoga at work — either on our own at the on-site gym or at weekly on-site yoga classes. There’s truly nothing like Warrior Pose to start the workday or Savasana to melt away stress at the end of it.
Help Gaiam Plant Trees
How can you reduce your carbon footprint? You can help Gaiam plant new forests that absorb thousands of tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through The Conservation Fund’s Go Zero program.
Watch the video above to see how The Conservation Fund’s partnership with Gaiam, Gaiam customers and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has helped address two of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges — habitat loss and climate change.

In the summer of 2009, we asked our friends on Facebook and Twitter to tell us which composters they think we should carry in Gaiam’s spring 2010 catalog. We took the top eight suggestions and let the community vote on them. The two finalists were then compared in an ongoing video series called the Compost-Off, each of which is shared below.
Gaiam Donates 500 Thanksgiving Turkeys to Denver Rescue Mission

Here’s one way Gaiam gave back this holiday season: We donated 500 turkeys to the Denver Rescue Mission, helping to provide Thanksgiving meals to the poor and homeless in the Denver area.
“Gaiam has sent an important message to those we serve — that there are many who care,” says Lisette Williams, manager of community events and procurement for the Denver Rescue Mission.
Gaiam Employees Harvest Fruits & Veggies from Organic Garden

Gaiam garden volunteers have harvested and enjoyed a bounty of delicious organic fruits and veggies this summer from the Gaiam community garden at our headquarters in Boulder, Colo.
We began harvesting our plentiful red-leaf lettuce in June and now have a healthy new crop of green-leaf lettuce.
Gaiam Staffers Donate School Backpacks Packed with Love

Last month Gaiam staffers contributed 40 fully-packed backpacks to the Crayons to Calculators school supply drive, which aims to provide 5,000 backpacks to children in need to start their school year off right.
Our staff’s huge outpouring of support for the Crayons to Calculators program is clear in this mountain of donated backpacks … The girls from Gaiam’s HR team paused for a photo before prepping the packs for volunteers to fill at our Boulder, Colo., headquarters.
Converted to Inverted: What It’s Like on an Inversion Table

I can’t believe how good it feels to be upside-down.
Working at Gaiam, we get to try some cool stuff. The Inversion Table is very cool stuff. There are two of them in an open area, a little oasis near customer service where people go to meditate, read, stretch, whatever. Christine, who says she’s not needed massage or chiropractic nearly as much for her back since she started inverting, showed me how to strap in. It’s much less intimidating than it appears — and wow, is it worth it.
