Relax, Rejuvenate and Reconnect

As I look at my own life, and as I look around at other people, it is obvious that there is a dire need for deep relaxation [2]. We are so caught up in the drama of “us against the world” that it makes it impossible to know how it feels to drop our guard and feel the life force surging through us at no cost and with no effort.
For most of us leading a sedentary life, there are some immediate yoga solutions that can give us at least a momentary rest from the rat race. Tire out your legs [3] through a good set of standing poses. Open up your back body through a set of restorative forward bends. Follow these with seated meditation [4] and then a delicious relaxation pose where you scan the sensations of your body [5] from the top of your head to the soles of your feet. This sequence will allow you to rest very deeply and will help you redefine a new state of calm in your nervous system.
But remember, while these asana tricks [6] are valuable and good, the real trick is to understand who you really are — the inclusiveness of all things.
Namaste,
Rodney
