I have been sleeping this way ever since my pregnancy seven years ago, and I highly recommend it! I use a regular pillow between my knees which is also just long enough to rest my arm on. I can't sleep without some kind of cushioning between my knees now.

I also have been sleeping really well for the last 4 or 5 years since switching to a buckwheat hull pillow for my head. I have never gone back to a regular pillow, I love it so much. It is quite firm and might take some getting used to, but it molds to the shape of your head/face. It aligns my neck perfectly, and I never wake up with kinks anywhere anymore. There is a stability there that is unmatched (it's like a yoga prop, but for sleeping!) and just knowing that it is providing me with perfect spinal positioning helps me doze off peacefully. (FYI, mine is not cylindrical, but small and rectangular.)
