How to Succeed in New Intentions (Not Just Resolutions): Part 1
Posted By Cynthia James On January 12, 2009 @ 3:36 pm In Personal Growth | 4 Comments
Happy New Year! Most people begin the year feeling motivated to be more healthy, prosperous and successful. Statistics show that a majority of people do not succeed with their new resolutions. In fact, some do not even make it through the first quarter of the year. The reason is simple: People are trying to adjust from the outside.
While I believe that intention [1] and goal setting are powerful tools, saying that you want to change is not enough. Change comes about when there is a willingness to shift patterns and behaviors that do not serve our health and well-being. Lasting transformation occurs on the inside and is connected to purpose and willingness.
In this post, I want to give you some tools to support the creation of deeply rooted intentions that stand the test of time. In the next two weeks, I invite you to do the following:
Read your intention statement, aloud, every day. This will activate within you an energy of success. Doing it first thing in the morning is powerful and will be a great start to the day. We will work with the passion and pain points in part two, in my next post, where I will support you in ways that anchor long-term commitments and affirm success. This is important because your old ways of operating have been there a long time and want to stay alive. Stay strong. I believe in you. You are a masterpiece in the making and have come here to do great things!
I invite you to say the following affirmation daily.
Today, I claim my power and purpose. I am destined to do great things, and I am unstoppable!
