Thank you for sharing this wonderful article! I, too, am passionate about the healing power of movement and dance, and am currently studying to become a certified dance/movement therapist. Currently, I am interning as a dance and movement therapist with hospitalized mentally ill and eating disorder patients and see how quickly and miraculously movement can empower, improve mood, release tension and stress, connect with others, and promote embodiment and body image awareness.
Please, post more info! Keep it coming!
In gratitude...

These are such wonderful words. Thank you. I am one of those individuals who had a very tramatic childhood that left me very physically impaired. It is so painful to move. I do still move. I will continue to move. I dream of being able to move more. I do find that on those days when I move the least I am down the most, I feel the worst. So, move I shall until I am no more.

Tanja,

I just purchased a Balance Ball and it came with one of your videos. So naturally, I had to Google you and found this blog. I couldn't agree more that movement heals body, mind and spirit. I absolutely love your presentation and energy.

Thank you for sharing and keep up the fantastic work!

Very moving piece! I have found the same proof in my senior aqua aerobics classes that I teach in my small rural area in South Georgia. I see a transformation take place as my 20 + students ages 50 to 80 move to music in our local pool. Even those who have difficulty moving on land become beautifully active and full of joy as they move through gentle excercise. I am inspired by their rewards. Your article has helped me to feel even all the small movements are doing much for their spirits as well as their joints and overall health! Thank you.
