You came from Astanga, which is one of the disciplines that does focus on the core. So yes, seems like you definitely have more training in the bandhas than most. I do see many, many students who struggle with core strength, and this is for everyone, both practiced in the core connections and not. Count yourself lucky that you learned it from the beginning!  Let me know what else you&#039;d like to see here in the blog!

Was surprised that you said yogis don&#039;t tend to have strong cores, because it&#039;s not something I&#039;ve observed over the years in my practice. I did come from an astanga background though, which emphasizes contractions of mula bandha and uddiyana bandha throughout, so perhaps this is why. 

Regardless, you&#039;ve inspired me to do some different postures in my next practice.
