8 Calorie-Burning Workouts to Look and Feel Your Best

Cardio is an all-around health booster. It burns calories, lowers body fat, strengthens your heart and lungs, and increases bone mass and muscle tone.
Cardio also releases mood-enhancing endorphins and hormones! I am oh-so-happy when I get my cardio  in for the day — and so is the rest of my family!
For an exercise to be considered “aerobic” or “cardiovascular” it needs to elevate your heart rate  to 60-85 percent of its maximum. When you are in “the zone ” you should be able to talk in short phrases, but not carry on a conversation.
This challenge includes eight cardio drills  that you can do at home in about 25 minutes. Do each exercise  for about 30 seconds and then rest 30-60 seconds before you proceed to the next exercise. You can do this by itself or in addition to your regular workout.
Begin with some warm-up movement for a couple of minutes: marching, squats, big arm motions and deep breaths. This gets the blood flowing to all your extremities and warms your muscles. Then follow the moves illustrated in the video.
